Calling Bengaluru the symbol of a new India, Modi described the city’s unique identity as a combination of tatva gyaan (philosophical knowledge) and tech gyaan (technological knowledge). He credited the city’s innovation ecosystem and Karnataka’s youth for contributing to national achievements, including defence successes such as Operation Sindhoor.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for Phase-3 (Orange Line) of Namma Metro. Once complete, the Orange and Yellow Lines together will serve 25 lakh passengers daily, easing the city’s traffic congestion. He urged the state and Centre to work together towards Viksit Bharat, while encouraging youth to drive the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar underlined Bengaluru’s traffic crisis, noting its population of 1.4 crore and nearly 1.2 crore vehicles- almost one per person- put immense strain on road infrastructure. “Bengaluru will become number two after Delhi Metro,” he said.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw pointed to Karnataka’s improved railway allocations—from ₹835 crore pre-2014 to ₹7,500 crore now- with ₹54,000 crore worth of projects currently underway in the state.
