The Mavrick 440 has been let go by Hero MotoCorp just 18 months after the motorcycle joined the lineup.
While Hero MotoCorp is the undisputed leader in the budget two-wheeler segment, the brand had very little to offer in the premium segment. A couple years ago, Hero launched the Premia showrooms catering to its premium range of motorcycles which started with the launch of the new-gen Karizma XMR 210.
However, it was the Mavrick 440 which marked a true beginning of Hero in the premium segment. The platform developed by Hero alongside Harley-Davidson underpinned the latter’s X440. The Mavrick turned out to be Hero’s flagship product and having ridden it was one of the better built motorcycles by the company in a long time.
Launched in March 2024, it seems Hero MotoCorp has pulled the plug on the Mavrick 440. While the company hasn’t yet delisted the naked roadster from its website, reports indicate that Hero has indeed been discontinued. According to Bikewale, Hero has stopped dispatching and accepting orders for the Mavrick. In fact, Hero hasn’t manufactured a single unit of the Mavrick in the last three months.

Hero Mavrick 440 discontinued: Why?
The main reason for Hero discontinuing Mavrick 440 is attributed to its poor sales return. Prior to this, Hero was barely able to sell triple-digit units on an average in a month. On the other hand, X440 has managed to bring in decent sales numbers for the company. For instance, Hero sold 8,974 units of the Harley X440 and only 3,214 units of the Mavrick 440 during the first nine months of FY2025.
However, by January 2025, Mavrick sales had declined to just over 50 units, and since April 2025, volumes have largely remained in single digits or dropped to zero. Further, after sales support and service for Premium showrooms has been a cause of concern for Hero MotoCorp as several complaints have been reported, primarily due to lack of spare parts.
