Bosch Ltd has acquired a 26% equity stake in JSW Neo Energy Ltd by purchasing 40,52,160 equity shares for a cash consideration of ₹4.05 crore. According to the company’s exchange filing, the acquisition is aimed at securing green power at a lower cost.
The transaction is expected to be completed on or before January 31, 2026, or on such other date as may be mutually agreed upon by the parties. Incorporated in 2021, JSW Neo Energy is engaged in the business of electricity generation.
Bosch Limited reported a profit after tax (including exceptional items) of ₹1,115 crore (equivalent to €115 million) for the first quarter of FY26, a sharp increase of approximately 140% year-on-year (y-o-y) from ₹465.5 crore in the same quarter last year. The surge in profit was attributed to the sale of its Video Solutions, Access and Intrusions, and Communication Systems businesses.
“Our performance in the first quarter reflects strong growth, driven by increased revenue, higher demand in passenger cars, and a reduction in material costs enabled by a favourable product mix. This results from our consistent efforts to strengthen our core businesses while remaining focused on future-ready technologies,” said Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director, Bosch Limited.
He added that the company also successfully completed the sale of a part of its Building Technologies business this quarter. “Despite global challenges, we remain optimistic about the opportunities ahead,” he said.
Total revenue from operations stood at ₹4,789 crore (approximately €494 million) for Q1 FY26, marking a 10.9% increase over the same quarter last year.
Segment growth
The product sales of the automotive segment have increased by 14.3% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The Power Solutions business, which constitutes majority of the overall automotive product sales, has grown by 13.7% over the same quarter of the previous financial year. This is mainly on account of growth in the off-highway segment supported by moderate growth in the passenger car segment.
The Mobility Aftermarket business grew by 5.2% compared to the same quarter of last year due to increased market demand for gasoline systems, comfort electronic and wiper systems. The Beyond Mobility business declined by 9.3% in net sales over the same quarter of the previous financial year.
