Former RCB Star Suggests India Should Not Play Against Pakistan in Asia Cup

After the Pahalgam attack in April this year, tensions between India and Pakistan are very high. In the midst of the mounting tensions between the two countries, the schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates was announced. Within minutes of the announcement, there was a huge backlash from the Indian fans, asking the Board of Control for Cricket in India to withdraw from the tournament. 

Shreevats Goswami, the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Bengal cricketer, had this to say on the developing situation. “My reading on the Asia Cup going forward is that India must forfeit the game against Pakistan and let them qualify. We don’t need to win the Asia Cup,” he wrote on ‘X’.
